We are delighted to have you join us to discover more about the church of Christ at Groveport, Ohio. I have been the full-time minister for the congregation since 1991. In 1978, I married and moved from West Virginia to Ohio. My first work was with the church of Christ in New Lexington, Ohio (1978-1991). After thirteen years, the decision was made to move to Groveport. We have enjoyed a fruitful work for many years and look forward to continuing to serve the Lord in this location. I would like to extend a personal invitation to you to visit with us at 5626 Groveport Rd., Groveport, OH. The congregation has a mission statement that I believe is very appropriate:
“We will be a loving congregation of God’s people desiring to glorify Him and grow the membership as He desires.”
We are on mission for the Lord Jesus Christ and I am eager to meet you when you visit with us. I was born April 19, 1956 in Barrackville, WV to Earl P. and Vonda J. Stevens. I am a graduate of St. Marys High School, St. Marys, WV (1974) and attended college at Ohio Valley University, Parkersburg Community College, Fairmont State College and Southern Christian University (Masters in Ministry).
I am married and have two children. I began preaching in 1971 at Mooresville, WV in a Gospel meeting with my father (Earl) and brother (Steve). I have held two fulltime works: New Lexington, OH (1978-1991) and Groveport, OH (1991 to the present).
I wrote an article every month for Therefore Stand entitled, “Gems From the Greek.” I have written more than 200 articles. These articles are indexed by RSI (Restoration Serials Index). In the future, some of these articles will appear on my web page. Just click on
